Candidates for IntraLASIK

Almost everyone who wears glasses or contacts and wishes to undergo laser vision correction using a technique that eliminates the most severe sight-threatening complications of traditional LASIK are good candidates for this amazing procedure. However, there are some exceptions.

Those interested in undergoing IntraLASIK must visit our Bergen County practice in Northern New Jersey for a free consultation. During the consultation, Dr. Norden will determine if the individual is a suitable candidate for IntraLASIK. Good candidates are at least 18 years old, have stable vision, and are free from eye infections and autoimmune disorders. Dr. Norden will explain the procedure, as patients should have a thorough understanding of the IntraLase Method™, as well as the benefits and risks, to ensure the most successful results.

IntraLASIK — the Bladeless LASIK Procedure

During the IntraLASIK procedure, the IntraLase® laser focuses a beam of light into the cornea. This light creates thousands of microscopic bubbles that link together to form the corneal flap. Because the laser is guided by a computer, the flap can be made according to a specific depth, diameter, width, and position.

Once the flap is created, an excimer laser is used to sculpt the cornea for enhanced vision.

The flap is then put back into place, and the eye rapidly heals. Patients are able to experience a dramatic improvement in vision by the very next day.
