Allegretto Wave Laser
After years of clinical and technical research, the time has come to consider laser vision correction as a proven alternative to glasses and contact lenses. Millions of people around the world are already enjoying an improved quality of sight and quality of life. The first step is to have an evaluation to determine whether you are a LASIK eye surgery candidate. Call us today to schedule an appointment, or for more information.
Taking human sight beyond 20/20 is possible. The Allegretto Wave brings you closer to achieving your desire for perfect vision. This technology, built by WaveLight, represents a new generation in laser vision technology. From the start, it was designed to provide custom treatments by incorporating wavefront principles into each procedure while adjusting the treatment to the patient’s unique corneal curvature.
Operating at 200 HZ, the Allegretto Wave is one of the fastest excimer laser systems available in the United States, treating one diopter of correction in only four seconds. An average treatment will take no more than 10–12 seconds – in many cases even less.
Today, patients want to see better than with their glasses and contact lenses. They want to improve their quality of vision, especially at night and with regards to depth perception and contrast sensitivity. The Allegretto Wave laser is engineered to consider the natural shape of the human eye, aiming to improve what nature originally designed. The Wavefront Optimized™ treatment considers the unique curvature and biomechanics of the eye, preserving quality of vision and addressing the spherical distortions that can induce glare and may affect night vision.
The Allegretto Wave relies on PerfectPulse Technology® to accurately control the energy level and exact placement of every laser pulse as it reaches the eye. The high-speed active eye-tracker tracks the eye 200 times per second, following even the fastest eye movements during treatment. If the eye moves out of range, the procedure pauses until the eye returns to a treatment position.
Due to the Allegretto Wave providing custom vision correction with the standard Wavefront Optimized treatment, the majority of patients may not benefit from a wavefront-guided treatment. However, after an extensive analysis of your vision, the doctor will determine whether this treatment will be helpful with the overall laser vision correction outcome.
The wavefront-guided treatment involves an additional step where the results of a detailed scan with the WaveLight ALLEGRO Analyzer provides further measurements for the treatment plan, the data is validated, and then it is transferred to the Allegretto Wave laser system. Next, the final treatment profile is calculated, and then the laser treatment begins.
If you are a candidate for wavefront-guided treatment, you should be pleased to know that the patient outcomes from our clinical study results and important distinctions are impressive. A few of the highlights which may be of interest include:
Glare, and night driving glare, improved for the majority of patients over the glare they experienced with eyeglasses or contact lenses.
93% of patients achieved UCVA 20/20 or better.
The Allegretto Wave is the first system to allow customized correction for patients with presbyopia (those who need reading glasses).

Good Day Good Night
At Last! An excimer laser built specifically for custom laser vision correction! Since the first excimer laser approval by the FDA in 1995, millions of people have treated their nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism and reduced or eliminated their dependence on glasses and contact lenses.
Excimer lasers differ in a number of ways, but conventional excimer laser treatments use the same formulas to treat every patient with the same optical prescription. With the advent of wavefront-guided custom treatments in 2002, refractive surgeons were able to address unique imperfections in each patient’s optical pathway.
Soon after, physicians began discussing the possibility of taking human sight beyond 20/20.
Now, for the first time since 1999, an entirely new excimer laser platform has received regulatory approval in the United States: the Allegretto Wave , built by WaveLight®. Representing a new generation in laser vision technology, it was conceived right from the start for custom treatments and incorporates wavefront principles into each procedure while adjusting the treatment to the patient’s unique corneal curvature.
WaveLight was the first company to introduce high speed laser vision correction in the United States. Now, the Allegretto Wave Eye-Q takes the technology one step further with the fastest excimer laser system available today in the U.S. Operating at 400 HZ while applying 400 treatment pulses per second, many people can receive vision correction treatment in as little as 8 seconds, some even less.
You Have Waited Long Enough! If you have been waiting to have laser vision correction, wait no longer. Proven technology is here and now is the time to find out whether you are a candidate. Call us today to schedule an evaluation.
